Roof Ice Melt Recommendations

RIM PANELS - designed to provide 36w/ft at the eaves with three runs of cable.  Extremely effective for Class 1 Areas and for unique roof eave problems.

RIM2 PANELS - designed to provide 16w/ft at the eaves with two runs of cable.  Very effective for Class 2 Areas and for selected Class 1 Areas.

ZIG-ZAG HEATING CABLE - designed to provide 8 or 12w/ft in ice or snow (4-5 w/ft in the ice cave formed).  Moderately effective in Class 2 Areas. Not effective for icicle prevention.  Not recommended for Class 1 Areas.

The Patented RIM and RIM2 Systems have these key features:

  • A continuous, heated metal panel fabricated from thermally conductive metals – aluminum and copper.  The aluminum is available in 25 different colors.

  • Aesthetically attractive or pleasing to the eye.

  • Unique, patented heating panel design efficiently directs heat exactly where it’s needed.

  • A reliable electric heat source utilizes safe, self-regulating heating cable technology.  Over 500 million feet of heating cable have been applied on industrial applications throughout the world.

  • Since 1993, over 60 miles of roof eave and valley panels have been installed and continue to prevent roof eave and valley icicle and ice dam problems.

  • Innovative panel design simplifies both new and retrofit installation procedures.

  • Our engineering of each system with complete layout and electrical information ensures a trouble-free installation.

  • Mechanically protects the heating cable from damage.
